  • Create a subscription offer

Create an offer and set the payment type to Subscription: the buyer is charged on a recurring basis at the frequency you choose. Subscriptions only work for digital products — not for physical ones.

Requires workspace access: any authenticated member can create offers, with no specific role.

    Before you start

    • The product cannot be physical. The subscription option is disabled for physical products, and the server refuses it if forced.
    • The offer has a minimum amount, stated on the form itself. Below that the server refuses to save.
    • Subscriptions are charged by credit card only. When you select Subscription, the Pix and Boleto controls are disabled on the offer, and checkout shows credit card only.
    • To actually sell, your seller registration must be approved — see seller registration.

    Steps

    1. Open the product and create an offer.
    2. Give the offer a name.
    3. In the payment type, choose Subscription rather than Single Payment.
    4. Fill in the offer amount, respecting the stated minimum.
    5. In the billing recurrence, choose the frequency: Monthly, Quarterly, Semiannual or Annual. The frequency also caps the number of card instalments — see instalments.
    6. (Optional) Offer a trial period and choose its length — 7, 14, 30, 60, 90 or 180 days.
    7. Create the offer. It is saved and synced to the checkout, and you get the checkout link at the end.

    Limit the number of charges

By default a subscription renews until the buyer cancels. To make it end on its own after a fixed number of charges:

    1. Open the subscription offer for editing.
    2. Turn on Limit number of charges.
    3. In Total charges (including the purchase), pick 1 to 12. The total includes the purchase charge: with 3 charges on a monthly subscription, the buyer pays at purchase, the next month and the month after, and then the subscription ends.
    4. Save. If the offer is already approved, it stays approved: the change is sent to the checkout and only changes status if it is refused, in which case the offer waits for corrections.

    What happens next:

    • The limit only applies to new subscriptions. Existing subscribers keep the limit (or no limit) that applied when they bought.
    • At checkout, the buyer sees how many charges the subscription will have.
    • In the subscriptions list, the charges column shows progress (for example, 3 of 10), and the subscription detail shows Remaining charges and the Expected end. The sale detail shows which charge it is (for example, Charge 3 of 10).
    • A declined charge that is retried does not count: only paid charges use up the limit.
    • When it reaches the end, the subscription shows as Ended, not Canceled, and is not counted as a cancellation. Use the Ended status filter to find them.

The option only appears for products using the Clickmax checkout. For products sold through an external checkout, billing happens on the other platform and the limit is not available.

    If it didn't work

    • Limit number of charges does not appear → the offer is not a subscription, or the product uses an external checkout.

    • A refusal saying the charge limit must be between 1 and 12 → pick a total from 1 to 12.

    • The subscription option is disabled, or saving fails because subscription offers cannot be physical products → the product is physical; subscriptions are for digital products only.

    • An error saying the instalment is below the minimum → the offer amount leaves each instalment under the floor. Raise the offer amount.

    • A refusal on the minimum price → raise the offer amount.
