How do I create the content of an automation email?
As soon as you add a Send email step to an automation, before any text exists, ClickMax asks "How do you want to create this email?" instead of opening the editor directly — so you pick a starting point before any blank content gets saved.
Role: any member with edit access to the workspace.
Before you start
- An automation being edited, with a freshly added Send email step (no subject or body filled in yet).
- An email sender configured — see email domain.
Steps
- Open the email step on the automation canvas. If it has no content yet, the "How do you want to create this email?" screen appears instead of the editor.
- Choose one of the options:
- Template — pick a ready-made template (including a blank one) and edit it to your liking in the visual editor.
- Paste text — paste text from a document (for example, Google Docs) and adjust the result in the editor.
- A standalone piece of text in brackets (
[Buy now]) automatically becomes a button with that label. %FIRSTNAME%and[name]become the lead's name variable, filled in with the contact's first name at send time.
- A standalone piece of text in brackets (
- Import HTML — if you already have HTML ready, drag the file in or turn on Paste HTML and paste the code. The preview shows the result before you confirm; importing replaces all of the email's current content (undo with Ctrl+Z right after if needed). The imported HTML is kept exactly as you pasted it — no editor default colors or background are applied — and stays editable afterward: you can select any element inside it and adjust it as you like.
- Once chosen, the visual editor opens with that content loaded. Adjust subject, preview text, copy, and styling as usual.
- To edit a link or button that already exists in the email, click it and use the same link/button control in the toolbar to change its destination — it edits the selected link instead of creating a new one next to it.
- Clicking the shown link to choose the destination automatically opens the Propriedades tab (right-hand panel) already with the options — even if the Estilo tab was open before: a checkout link (from the trigger's product or a specific product, with an optional coupon), a page (from a funnel or a specific page), a redirect (one of the redirects configured on the domain), or a custom URL (paste any other link).
- When you select an image, a dedicated panel opens with Selecionar imagem (replaces the file), Link (makes the image clickable), Alt (alt text), Lazy Load, and Custom Attributes; the image's alignment (left/center/right) lives in the toolbar, alongside the other position controls.
- The toolbar's Variables button inserts a lead data point wherever you're typing (full name, first name, email, or phone). Select the text or layer where the variable should go before clicking the option you want.

If it didn't work
- "Create with MAX" appears locked: this way of creating the email (paste the text and AI builds it for you) isn't available yet — coming soon. For now, use Template, Paste text, or Import HTML.
