Connect Econodata and enrich your CRM companies
Connect your Econodata account with its API token and every company screen in the CRM gets two tabs: Econodata data, with registration details, size, presumed revenue, phone numbers and federal tax debts, and People, with partners, decision makers and employees you can turn into leads. Lookups spend tokens from your Econodata account.
Before you start
- To connect the account: workspace role Owner or Administrator, or a Member whose job title gives access to Integrations.
- To enrich a company: Owner, Administrator, or a Member whose job title allows Edit on Companies. To turn people into leads, the job title must also allow Create on Leads. See roles and permissions.
- An Econodata account with a token balance.
- Each workspace can have one connected Econodata account.
Econodata's own platform is in Portuguese only, so its menu labels are kept in Portuguese below, with the English meaning in parentheses.
Generate the token in Econodata
The token is generated in Econodata's platform, not in Clickmax. In another tab:
- Sign in to your Econodata account.
- Open Integrações (Integrations).
- Generate an API token.
- Copy the generated token. It starts with
ek_live_.
A token without the ek_live_ prefix belongs to Econodata's old API and is not accepted.
Connect it in Clickmax
- In Clickmax, open Integrations > Explore integrations and, under Sales and Payments, pick the Econodata card.
- Under Connect your account, paste the token into the API token field. Use Show token if you want to check what you pasted.
- Click Connect account.
Clickmax validates the token against Econodata before saving it. A wrong token, an inactive one or an account with no tokens do not create the connection, and the refusal shows right under the field — see Common errors.
Once connected, the screen shows the Active badge. Connecting spends no tokens.
Replace the token or disconnect
Go back to the same screen, paste the new token and click Update token. You do not have to disconnect first: since there is only one account per workspace, the new token replaces the previous one.
Disconnect deletes the stored token. Data already brought in stays on each company screen; what stops is enriching or refreshing.
When Econodata starts rejecting the token
The badge turns into Invalid credential and the screen warns: Econodata rejected the current token. Paste a new token to enrich companies again. Usually the token was revoked or expired in the Econodata dashboard.
While the token is in that state, the Econodata data tab on companies asks for the connection again, as if nothing were connected. Paste a new token and click Update token.
Enrich a company
- Open Contacts > My Companies and click the company.
- In the right column, open the Econodata data tab.
- Click Enrich.
The lookup takes a few seconds (the button reads Querying Econodata...) and the result appears in the same tab, with the message Company enriched with Econodata data.
Which key the company is looked up by
Clickmax uses the best key the company already has on file, in this order: CNPJ (the Brazilian company tax ID), then website, then email. The top of the tab records which one was used, under Looked up by.
A company with none of the three cannot be looked up: the button stays disabled, with the notice Fill in the company CNPJ, website or email to enrich it. Fill one of those fields on the company record and try again.
Fill in the CNPJ whenever you have it: it is the most precise key. Website and email are matched by domain, so a company hosted on a generic domain may not be found.
What the tab shows
Data comes grouped into up to five sections — Registration, Activity, Size and revenue, Contact and Federal tax debts. What Econodata returns varies a lot per company: a field with no value is not shown, and a section with no data at all does not appear. Two enriched companies can show very different amounts of information.
Employees and annual revenue are Econodata estimates: it gives a range and a value inside it, and the tab shows that value. The numeric filters on the companies list use the same value.
Which record fields get filled in
Enrichment completes only the fields that are empty on the company record: legal name, trade name, CNPJ, address, phone, website, email, industry and size.
Nothing you typed is overwritten. If the phone your team wrote down is there, it stays — even when Econodata brings another one. To change it, edit the field by hand.
Refreshing later
The top of the tab shows Updated on with the date and time of the last lookup. Click Refresh to look it up again: the data block is replaced with the latest response, and the people list is rebuilt.
People you already turned into leads are not removed by a refresh, even if they stop appearing in Econodata's response.
Create leads from the people
The People tab lists whoever Econodata found at the company, in three groups: Partners, Decision makers and Employees. You get every partner and up to 5 decision makers and 5 employees, the most relevant ones according to Econodata. Each row shows the role, the decision level, the best available email and, when it exists, the LinkedIn link.
- One person: click Create lead on their row.
- Several: tick the boxes (or use Select all) and click Create leads (N).
At the end, a message sums the batch up: how many were created, how many were linked, how many already existed and how many failed.
The tab stays empty, with the text No people found. Enrich the company in the Econodata data tab., when the company has not been enriched yet or when Econodata returned nobody.
No duplicate contacts
If a contact with the same email already exists in the workspace, Clickmax links the person to it instead of creating a second one — that contact's history, tags and opportunities stay intact. That is what the summary counts as linked.
An already converted person shows View lead instead of the button, and resending the same selection creates nothing new: they are counted as already existed.
Origin of the leads created
On the contact record, the origin shows as Integrations, with Econodata as the sub-origin. You can tell these contacts apart from the rest by that pair.
Tokens and limits
When the plan quota runs out mid-batch, the links are still made and only the creations fail — the message Plan lead quota reached. Some leads were not created. tells you how many were left out.

Filter the list by the data brought in
Once companies are enriched, CNAE, sector, estimated size, status, employee count, annual revenue and federal debt become filters on the companies list. Step by step in How to filter companies by CNAE, size, revenue and state.
