  • Send SMS or voice

SMS and voice are ready-made broadcast channels in Messaging: you create the send, write the text (SMS) or add an audio file (voice), choose the audience and send or schedule it. Unlike WhatsApp or Instagram, these channels go out through the platform's provider — there is no account to connect.

    Before you start

    • Role: the audience screens block guest and attendant (without the coordinator subrole); owner, admin and editor work normally.

    Steps

    1. Open Messaging and create a new broadcast on the SMS or voice channel.
    2. Give the send a name.
    3. Build the content:
      • SMS: write the text (160 characters — beyond that it is truncated to fit). Insert variables such as name and email to personalise it.
      • Voice: the broadcast is guided in steps (audio, audience, schedule and review). In the audio step, choose Create audio — upload one MP3 or WAV file up to 5 MB or record with your microphone — or Use template to reuse an audio from the template gallery, which you can filter by search and category. To reuse your audio later, use Save as template: it becomes available to the whole workspace.
    4. Choose the audience — a list or a segment. The audience modes are covered in send a broadcast.
    5. (Optional) Schedule the date and time, adjust batch sending, or send a test to your own number.
    6. Send it, or save it as a draft for later.

To fire SMS or voice automatically from an event or a stage, use an automation rather than a manual send.

    If it didn't work

    • The call does not go out, or the audio is discarded: the file must be MP3 or WAV up to 5 MB at a reachable link — the server checks the URL and rejects anything outside those rules.
    • The SMS arrived cut off: the text went past 160 characters and was truncated.
    • You cannot choose the audience: your role is guest, or attendant without coordinator. See no permission.
