How do I close the next-step list without choosing anything?
Press Esc, click any empty area of the canvas or use the ✕ in the corner of the card. All three close the list without creating any block, and the step you started from stays exactly as it was.
Role: any member with edit access to the workspace.
When this shows up
The "choose your action" card opens whenever the flow expects a next step — when you create the automation, when you pull a block's output, or after removing a block that sat in the middle of the path.
Previously, leaving that screen meant picking some action just so you could delete it right after.
What closing does NOT do
- It does not create a block. Nothing is added to the automation and nothing needs undoing later.
- It does not disconnect what already exists. The block the list came from keeps its setup and its connections.
- It does not stop you reopening it. Click the block's output again and the list comes back.
If you had already created an action — a tag, for example — and the list opened right after, closing it preserves that action. It stays on the canvas, configured, with its output free for you to connect manually to a block that already exists elsewhere in the flow.
One list at a time
Opening the list from another block automatically closes the previous one. That avoids ending up with several "choose your action" cards open across the canvas, with no idea which belongs to which output.
