How do I ask a lead to confirm their email subscription (double opt-in)?
In an automation triggered by a capture, add a Send email step with the Consentimento (consent) block. Each person gets a Confirmar inscrição (confirm subscription) button with a link of their own. When they confirm, the contact's email becomes Valid, the contact gets the Subscription confirmed badge and the Contact confirmed subscription trigger fires, so you can continue with welcome or sales emails.
Role: any member with access to the workspace.
What it is for
- Deliverability: a mistyped email or a bot sign-up never confirms, so you stop sending to addresses that bounce or report spam.
- Clean list: you can put the people who confirmed in a segment and send marketing emails only to them.
- Proof of consent: the contact keeps when the person confirmed and through which email.
- Email verified for free: whoever confirms gets their email marked Valid, without waiting for the automatic check. The contact history records Email verified.
Before you start
- A form, quiz or capture page that already creates contacts.
- An email domain set up to send through Clickmax.
Steps
- Create an automation with the Contact captured trigger. Optionally narrow it to a funnel, page or quiz.
- Add a Send email step and open the editor.
- In the Conteúdo tab, drag the Consentimento block into the email.
- Write a short text explaining the request, for example: "Confirm you want to receive our emails". Adjust the button text, colors and shape if you like. The button destination cannot be changed: it is filled in at send time, with a different link for each person.
- Publish the automation.
- Create a second automation with the Contact confirmed subscription trigger for what should happen after confirmation (welcome, material delivery, joining the email sequence).
Ask a whole list to confirm (broadcast)
The Consentimento block also exists in the broadcast editor. Use it to clean up an old or imported contact base: whoever confirms gets their email marked Valid and fires the Contact confirmed subscription trigger; whoever does not confirm becomes a candidate to leave your sends.
- Create an email broadcast to the list you want to confirm.
- In the content, explain the request and drag the Consentimento block.
- Send it. After a few days, build a segment with that list and the Confirmed email subscription filter set to "is not" to see who did not confirm.
Invalid emails may be left out of the send depending on the broadcast recipient review (how to choose who receives a broadcast). An address that does not exist bounces and never confirms, so it also shows up in the segment of people who did not confirm.
What the person sees
- They get the email and click Confirmar inscrição.
- A page opens with your workspace name and their email partially hidden, and a Confirm subscription button. The page follows the person's browser language.
- After clicking the page button, they see Subscription confirmed.
Opening the link does not confirm on its own: confirmation only happens when the page button is clicked. That way, security tools that automatically open email links do not confirm anyone by mistake.
Rules
- The link is valid for 30 days from sending. After that the page shows This link has expired and asks for a new confirmation email.
- Confirming again changes nothing. The page shows Subscription confirmed and the trigger does not fire a second time.
- Confirmation belongs to the email address. If the contact's email is changed, the badge goes away and the old link shows Invalid link: the new address was never confirmed. Send a new confirmation email.
- Test email: the button opens a sample page with the button disabled. It does not confirm any contact.
- Confirming does not undo an unsubscribe. Whoever unsubscribed still does not receive emails.
Where to see who confirmed
- On the contact: the contact summary shows the Subscription confirmed on badge with the date.
- In segments and filters: use the Confirmed email subscription filter to separate who confirmed from who has not.
If it did not work
- The Consentimento block does not show: it exists in the automation and broadcast email editors. Other email editors do not offer it.
- The person says they confirmed but the contact has no badge: check whether the contact's email is still the one that received the message. If it was changed, the old confirmation does not apply to the new address.
- The trigger did not fire: it fires once per confirmed address. People who had already confirmed do not fire it again.
