How to generate a Studio creative from an automation?
Add a Request creative from the Studio step, pick a template you saved in the Video Studio and write the text of each template field with the contact variables. Every run that goes through the step creates a request (without a contact, the contact fields stay empty; a field that ends up empty keeps the template's text); the creative is created in the Studio on the computer where the template was saved, when the Studio is open in Clickmax.
Role: whoever edits automations. For the requests to become creatives, someone with Create access to the Video Studio needs to open the Studio on the computer where the template is; only people with that access see the request list.
Before you start
- A creative saved as a template in the Video Studio, with the changing texts marked for batches (see how to create a post, carousel or story, sections "Generate several at once from a spreadsheet" and "Save a creative as a template").
- After saving the template, open the Video Studio in Clickmax once: that is when the template starts showing up in automations.
Steps
- On the automation canvas, add a step and pick Request creative from the Studio.
- Under Template, pick the template.
- For each template field, write the text. Use the contact variables (for example, the name) and data from previous steps.
- Save and publish the automation.
The automation moves on to the next step without waiting for the creative.
Where the creatives show up
In the Video Studio, click Flow requests, next to the list filter. Each request shows the template, the first text, the date and the status:
With the Studio open in Clickmax, on any screen, new requests are checked every minute. If the template is deleted from the Studio, the requests waiting for it show up as Failed. Text that comes from the automation goes in as text: code in a contact field shows up as written, it does not run.
