  • How do I broadcast a webinar live from my camera?

From the session's control room you go live with the browser's camera and microphone, with nothing to install. Viewers in the room see your broadcast instead of the recorded video, and chat, offer and presence keep working as usual. When you end, the recording of the live shows up in your video library within about a minute.

Role: any member with access to the workspace.

    Before you start

    • Open the session's control room from the webinar's Sessions tab. The button shows up from 1 hour before the scheduled time.
    • Use a browser with camera and microphone access. The panel does not ask for anything when it opens: when you turn on the camera or the microphone for the first time, a notice explains the access, and Ask for permission opens the browser prompt. If the browser already blocked it, the notice shows how to allow it through the lock next to the site address — once allowed, the device turns on by itself, with no reload.
    • The live broadcast is per session and it is your call: the session stays in recorded mode until you click Go live. An ended session cannot go live again; to broadcast again, create another session.
    • If you already know the session will be live, choose ClickStream when creating it (see How do I manage the sessions of a webinar?). It is born with the Live mark and stays open until its end, regardless of the videos' duration.
    • During the live you can release a collection video over the broadcast and come back with Back to the live broadcast (see How do I use the control room during a live webinar?).

    1. Prepare the broadcast

    1. In the panel, the large frame shows your camera as soon as you turn it on and the browser allows access. Without access, the button stays off (red) — it never shows as on without a picture.
    2. Click Prepare live broadcast. The state changes to Ready to go live.
    3. Check picture and sound. The round buttons toggle Microphone and Camera; the third one shares your screen.

While the state is Ready to go live, nobody in the room sees you yet. This is the moment to adjust framing and light.

    2. Go live

    1. Click Go live.
    2. The state goes through Connecting… for a few seconds and becomes Live once the signal settles.

    What changes for viewers:

    • The session becomes live from this click. If the scheduled time had not arrived yet, the session starts now.
    • The recorded video leaves the screen and your broadcast takes its place. During Connecting…, the room shows The live broadcast starts in a moment….
    • Real chat, the offer on click and the viewer count behave like in any live session.

If your signal drops (unstable network, tab closed by mistake), the state goes back to Connecting… and the room waits. Reopening the panel puts you back on stage automatically; the session only ends when you click End broadcast.

    3. End

    1. Click End broadcast, at the top of the panel.
    2. Click Confirm ending within 4 seconds — ending cannot be undone, so the button asks for a second click.
    3. The camera turns off, the session is marked as ended and viewers see the closing page configured in the builder.

The full recording shows up within about a minute, named Live recording with the date. It does not replace the webinar's video by itself: see below how to reuse it.

    4. Use the recording as the video for the next sessions

    1. Open the webinar builder at the Video step.
    2. In the Live recordings list, find the broadcast by date and click Use this video.
    3. The recording goes to position 1 of the video collection: the next sessions, on the video script, open with the live. The other collection videos stay right behind it. The one in use shows the In use mark.

The list only shows up after a broadcast has ended and its recording is ready.

In the Sessions tab, the session broadcast live gets the Live mark next to its status, and the View recording button opens the video as soon as it is ready.

The offer and the pinned message arrive with the video

What you do in the panel (release the offer, pin a message) reaches viewers a few seconds after the click, on purpose. The live broadcast has a natural delay until the viewer's screen, and without that wait the offer card would show up before the moment you announce it in the video. The wait follows the delay chosen for the session: about 6 seconds with Low latency and about 15 seconds with Standard latency (see Broadcast delay). Chat has no such delay.

Viewers on an unstable connection do not keep freezing: the room holds their picture a few seconds further behind the broadcast and, once the connection settles, brings them back close to live on its own.

    Viewers can pause and rewind

During the live broadcast, viewers get pause, a timeline and the STREAMING badge in the corner of the video. Pausing only affects that viewer: they resume where they left off and can go back to parts that already aired. The badge is red when they are following the broadcast and grey, with how far behind they are, when they are not. Clicking the badge takes them back to the broadcast's current point.

The offer, the pinned message and the quiz reach everyone the moment you release them. Someone who paused or rewound may see the offer before watching the part where you announce it.

Broadcasting with OBS or another encoder

If you prefer a professional encoder (scenes, several cameras, overlays), click Broadcast with OBS or another encoder below the buttons. The panel shows the Server and the Key to configure the encoder. The rest of the flow is the same: click Go live in the panel and start the encoder.

For the lowest delay to viewers, set the encoder to a keyframe every 2 seconds and B-frames off (0). Longer keyframe intervals increase the broadcast delay.

The key is secret. Anyone holding it can broadcast as you, so do not share it or show it on screen during the live.

    Broadcasting with guests

You can bring other people onto the stage with you: a co-host, an expert, a customer giving a testimonial. Each guest joins from their own browser, with camera, microphone and screen, and viewers see everyone in the same broadcast.

    1. In the panel, click Guests on the right-hand rail (or Present or invite, below the stage). The Guests on stage card opens.
    2. Type the name the guest will show on stage and click Create link.
    3. Click Copy and send the link to that person. To invite someone else, click Invite someone else: each guest gets their own link.

What the guest sees when opening the link:

    • The Webinar stage page shows their camera and the microphone, camera and screen buttons.
    • Until you click Prepare live broadcast, the state stays at Waiting for the host. As soon as you prepare, the Join the stage button unlocks.
    • Once on stage, they see and hear whoever is already there, and you see and hear the guest in the panel. The Guests on stage card lists who is on stage with you, and each person also shows below the stage with the on stage tag. People on stage only reach the room after you click Go live.

    What stays with you only:

    • Go live and End broadcast. When you end it, every guest leaves the stage too.
    • The control room chat, offer and moderation.
    • The encoder details (server and key).

Guests can click Leave the stage at any time and come back with Back to the stage. A guest link lasts until your control room link expires and cannot be cancelled before that: send it only to people who will take part. To remove everyone from the stage, end the broadcast.

If a Turn on stage audio button shows up after reopening the panel or the guest page, click it: the browser blocked automatic sound until you interact with the page.
