  • How do I see who clicked each link in my broadcast?

Open a broadcast that was already sent and go to the Links tab. Each link in the message gets a block with its total clicks and how many different contacts clicked. Open a block to see who clicked, when, and how long after receiving the message.

It works for WhatsApp, SMS and email broadcasts.

    Before you start

    • The broadcast must already have been sent. See send a broadcast.
    • Only trackable links record who clicked. Every https:// link you paste in the message becomes trackable when it is sent, except the ones you set to Use original link in the email editor.

    Steps

    1. Open Messages and go to the broadcast.
    2. Click the Links tab.
    3. Check the numbers for each link:
      • Clicks: every visit to the link counts. The same contact opening the link twice adds two.
      • Unique contacts: how many different contacts clicked.
      • The link's UTMs (utm_source, utm_campaign and so on) appear under the address, when it has them. Every click on the same link carries the same UTMs, because they are part of the destination address.
    4. Click a link's block to see who clicked. The list shows, most recent click first:
      • Contact: the name, linking to the contact's card.
      • Email or phone: the email in an email broadcast, the phone number in the other channels.
      • Clicked at.
      • Time since receipt: for example, "7min after receipt". The time counts from when the message was delivered to the contact. When the channel does not confirm delivery, it counts from when it was sent.

The list is paginated. While the broadcast is still sending, the tab refreshes on its own.

    What the tab shows

    • A link in the message that nobody clicked still shows up, with 0 clicks.
    • The address shown is the link's original destination, not the short link the contact received.
    • In email, clicks from robots such as corporate email security scanners do not count, and the same click is never counted twice. A scanner that opens the link after the contact can still add to Clicks, but not to Unique contacts.
    • The Top clicked links card on the Analytics tab uses the same count, with clicks from every channel. The card's number is unique contacts.
