How do I create my own object in the CRM, like Properties or Vehicles?
Go to Contacts & Commercial → Settings → CRM settings → Objects and click Create object. An object is a record type your business tracks besides contacts, opportunities and companies: a real estate agency's properties, a dealership's vehicles, a school's classes. Once created, it gets its own CRM menu item, with a listing, filters and a sheet for each record.
Before you start
- To create and configure objects, your role needs the custom objects permission (Objetos personalizados → Manage) permission. With only View, you see the screen but can't create or edit.
- If the Objects section doesn't show in CRM settings, the feature isn't enabled for your account yet.
Create the object
- Open CRM settings → Objects and click Create object.
- Under Start from a template, pick Properties, Vehicles, Contracts, Classes or From scratch. The template brings a suggested name, icon, color and fields — you can change all of them.
- Fill in the name of one record (e.g. Property) and the name of many (e.g. Properties).
- Pick the word's grammatical gender. Portuguese uses it to write "Novo imóvel" or "Nova turma"; in English the result is the same either way.
- Pick the Icon and Color. The preview shows how the object will look in the menu and on a contact's sheet.
- Choose the title field: the record's name in lists, links and search (e.g. Address).
- Click Create and set up fields. You land on the object's Fields tab.
The Name in the API and for Max is generated from the plural name and doesn't change if you rename the object later.
Adjust the fields
An object's fields are the same custom fields used for contacts and opportunities: same types, options and rules. A field created in an object only exists in that object.
- On the object's page, open the Fields tab.
- Use New field to create one, or each row's menu to edit or deactivate it.
- To change the title field, open a text field's menu and click Use as title. The title field shows a Title badge and can't be deactivated.
Record photo. The Foto (photo) field type stores up to 20 images (JPG, PNG, WebP or GIF, up to 10 MB each). The first image is the Cover. The cover of the object's first active photo field becomes the record's avatar: it shows as a rounded square next to the title in the list and at the top of the record's sheet. The Properties and Vehicles templates already include it. In filters, a photo field only offers is filled in or is empty. The photo type also exists for contact and opportunity custom fields.
Rename or archive
- Edit name and icon, at the top of the object's page, changes names, gender, icon and color.
- Archive (in the object's menu) removes the object from the menu, filters and relations. Records and links are kept and come back with Unarchive. Archived objects are under Show archived in the objects list.
Who sees what
The custom objects permission (Objetos personalizados) covers all of the account's objects together — you can't enable one object and hide another for the same role. Each record has an Owner: someone allowed only their own records sees and edits just the ones they own. The object's Access tab summarizes each role; you change them in Roles.
