How to create a video by talking to the agent (Video Studio)
To create a video, keep the Studio connector running on your computer, open Video Studio in the sidebar, create a video and describe what you want in the "Describe the video or what to change…" field. The work is done by the Claude Code on your computer, with your Claude subscription, and every change shows up in the preview next to it.
Prerequisites:
- View access to the Video Studio resource (roles with access to Max Design already have it).
- A Claude subscription (Pro or Max) and the Claude app installed on the computer, signed in to your account.
- Google Chrome (or Edge, Brave, Arc and other Chrome-based browsers).
- The Video Studio is in testing and the item may not show in your workspace menu yet.
Set up the Studio on your computer (first time)
You don't need the terminal: your Claude installs everything.
- Open Video Studio in the side menu. You see Let's set up the Studio on your computer.
- If you don't have Claude on the computer yet, click Download the Claude app, install it and sign in. Then click I have Claude.
- Click Copy message. The message already has the key that links this computer to your Clickmax account; no need to change anything.
- Open the Claude app, click the Code tab, paste the message and send it. If it asks for a folder, pick any (for example, Documents). When it asks permission to run a command, click Allow: that is Claude installing the Studio. If a Claude page asks you to sign in or authorize, approve it with the same account.
- Keep the Clickmax page open. The Your computer box shows the progress and, when Claude is done, the page connects on its own.
- The first time, Chrome asks whether Clickmax can access apps and services on your computer: click Allow.
It works on Mac, Windows and Linux. On Windows, Claude can run in PowerShell or inside WSL (Linux on Windows): the copied message carries the command for both and Claude uses the one that fits. On Linux and WSL, if Claude says libraries for the render browser are missing, approve the install command it shows (it asks for your computer password once).
Setup takes about 5 minutes. If it takes long or Claude says something failed, reply "try again until it works", or open Taking long or something failed? and copy the message with a request for help.
If you already have the connector running another way, open Taking long or something failed? and click I already have the connector running and want to type the code to connect with the terminal code.
Create a video from a request
The Video Studio home (the top of the left column reads Cx Studio) has the Make a video heading, the request field and, below it, the Inspiration gallery, with ready-made clips (moments) split into Hook, Proof, Turn and Call to action.
- Write what you want in the field (for example, "15-second Instagram video introducing my website"). To speak instead of typing, click the microphone (Dictate the request) next to +: the text appears as you talk and continues from what was already there. Click it again to stop. The first time, the browser asks for permission to use the microphone; dictation uses the browser's own speech recognition.
- To pick format, length and audio, hover (or click) the settings icon next to +: choose the Format (16:9, 9:16, 1:1 or 4:5) and the Length (15 s, 30 s, 1 min or 1.5 min) and turn Narration, Captions and Music on or off. The summary next to the arrow shows what is selected.
- To use moments as references, click them in the gallery (the clip plays on hover). Each one goes into the field as a chip with a thumbnail and is marked In your request; the chip's x removes it. Up to 6 per request. The chip order is the order in the video: drag a chip to another position to change it.
- To send reference files (image, video, audio, a script in
.md, a spreadsheet…), paste into the field with Ctrl+V (⌘V on Mac), drag them onto the field or click + and pick From computer or From Drive (images, videos and audio from the Drive spaces you can see). They show as thumbnails under the text; the x (on hover) removes one. Up to 10 files per request: video and audio up to 200 MB, images and others up to 20 MB, up to 500 MB in total. - Press Enter or click the arrow. The video is created, the agent starts working right away and the editor opens showing the progress.
Each moment shows the @ of the creator of the original video that inspired it. The agent does not copy the moments: it takes the motion from each one and builds a single video with the brand from your website or idea.
Create with a guided shortcut
The shortcuts under the request field open a guided creation: the connector prepares the material on your computer, you check the preview or your choices, and the video is created with the request already put together.
-
From a link: paste the link to a site, ad or YouTube video and click Analyze. From a site, the connector captures the screens, logo and fonts; check the screens that go in, in order. From a video, it downloads it in light quality and looks for the best moments: it combines YouTube's "most replayed" curve, comments that mention a timestamp, audio energy (laughter, applause) and the speech, and AI picks moments that work on their own, cut at the start and end of a sentence. Each moment shows its hook line and the reason (for example, "2.1× most replayed" or "mentioned 12× in comments"). Then choose What to do with this video: Viral clips (one 9:16 video per checked moment, up to 5), Ad, Teaser, 1-minute summary, Quote cards or Step by step. In Context and request, write who it is for and what viewers should do next, or use the ready-made phrases (tone, link in bio call to action, original voice or new narration). If the video is from your channel and the connector has the Google connection set up, connect YouTube so the moments also consider your audience's retention. Use your own videos or ones you have permission for.
-
Recut your video: upload the video (up to 200 MB). The connector listens to the audio, transcribes the speech and shows the best moments with the reason; choose what to do with the video and the moments that go in, as in From a link.
-
Animated slides: upload the PDF (up to 50 MB). Each page becomes a slide; check the ones that go in, in order, and the time per slide.
-
Just captions: upload the video and pick the caption Style, Color and Position, previewed over a frame of the video. The video stays as is; only captions are added.
-
Map video: choose the View (Illustrated, Satellite, Streets, 3D with buildings and terrain, or Globe, which opens on the planet and zooms down to the place) and the Place: Brazil, a Region or a State (by clicking the map) or City or address. Under Camera, choose Still, Fly-in, Orbit or Path. Under What to show: The place highlighted, Pins and routes (one place per line, up to 12, in route order) or a CSV/XLSX Spreadsheet with address, coordinates, IBGE code or state abbreviation; rows that do not match are listed in the agent's reply. For Streets and 3D, pick the Theme, dark or light. The connector records the map on your computer before the video (about 3 minutes per 6 seconds of real map) and the map sources' credit appears in the footer.
In all of them you can adjust format, length and audio and write notes in Anything else?. Click Create video for the agent to start; Change material goes back to the first step.
The setup through Claude already installs what the connector uses to download videos from YouTube, Instagram and TikTok. To read PDFs, the connector needs poppler: if it says poppler is missing, ask your Claude to install it.
Build a video on a reference board
The Reference board is a free-form canvas where you gather reference videos, images and moments, talk to the AI about them and connect everything to a Video node. Use it when you want to recreate a kind of video that already works (for example, Shopee product finds) with your product.
- On the home screen, click the Reference board shortcut (or, in the left column, Boards › New board). The board opens empty; Start with AI + video adds an AI node connected to a Video node.
- Bring in references with the bar on the left or straight onto the board:
- Video link: paste a YouTube, Reels or TikTok link (or paste the link anywhere on the board with Ctrl+V/⌘V). The connector downloads and analyzes it on your computer: video frames, speech, the post caption and, on YouTube, the strong clips. Reels and TikToks that require login don't download: in that case, download the video and upload the file. Click Cut into clips to put each clip on the board, connected to its source video.
- Upload image or video: pick files or drop them on the board. An uploaded video is analyzed like a link.
- Generate images: describe the scene and click Generate. Connect a product photo to the node's input so the product looks the same as in the photo. Images are made one at a time on your computer; click one to put it on the board. Generating images only works on a Mac with Apple silicon (M1 or newer), with about 8 GB of free memory and the image model installed in the connector (about 38 GB downloaded once, plus 16 GB to use a reference photo); on other computers the node says generation is not installed.
- Moment from the catalog: pick a moment from the gallery by Hook, Proof, Turn or Call to action.
- Note: an idea, script or opening line.
- Connect the references to the AI node: drag from the dot on the right of one node to the dot on the left of the other. Ask anything ("What hooks viewers in the first 3 seconds?", "How do I recreate this with my product?"). The AI reads the speech, caption and frames of whatever is connected to it. You can also paste a page link (article, documentation, product site) or ask it to search: each page it reads becomes a Page node on the board, with a summary of what matters for the video and the link, and the page's useful images (screenshots, diagrams, the featured image) come out of it as image nodes, ready to connect to the video.
- Click Correlate: DNA and moments. A Reference DNA node appears with the video type, tone, pace, opening and the beats in order, plus a suggested catalog moment for each beat, connected to the DNA with the role written on the line.
- On the Video node, give it a name, pick the format (9:16, 16:9 or 1:1), duration and goal, and write the request for the agent. Connect the material that goes into the video (clips, images, moments). Material goes in top-to-bottom order on the board. The whole path up to it goes in too: if a connected moment came from a DNA, the DNA goes in; if the DNA came from the AI, the whole AI conversation goes in; and whatever was connected to the AI goes in as reference (images are copied to the video folder for the agent to look at). DNA and AI become the video's direction.
- Click Generate video. The video is created with the files, the agent starts working and the editor opens.
The board saves itself in the ClickmaxStudio folder on your computer (Saved on your computer at the top). To remove a node, hover it and click the trash can, or select it and press Delete. Use your own references or ones you are authorized to use. Downloading from Instagram can fail when the post requires login; in that case, upload the video file.
Open, organize and start from an example
- Under Cx Studio, Connector connected with a pulsing green Wi-Fi icon means the connector is responding. Hover the icon to see its details: address, ID, version, device, system, Claude Code version, videos folder and paired origins. The same icon shows next to Claude Code in the editor. If it turns red and blinks with Connector not responding, the connector stopped: see When the connector does not respond at the end of this page.
- Recent (on the left) lists recent videos. While the agent works on a video, the thumbnail gets a moving shine and the name shows what it is doing, with rotating verbs ("Pondering…", "Wrangling keyframes…"); when it finishes, Done. Search videos (or ⌘K) filters by name.
- All videos shows them all in a grid. Hover a video to Rename, Duplicate (a copy without exported files) or Archive (leaves the list without deleting: it moves to the
.archivefolder). - There you can also create a video by name, starting Blank (opens the cut screen) or from an Example with ready-made scenes for the agent to adapt.
- Videos live in the ClickmaxStudio folder on your computer.
Start from a ready-made cut
On a blank video, the editor opens Your first video: a moment for each part of the film — Hook, Proof, Turn and Call to action.
- Hover a card to see its options. Swap shows every moment for that part (the clip plays on hover); click one to put it in the cut. The shuffle button picks another at random.
- Click the play button to watch the cut in sequence. The shuffle button next to the bar replaces the whole cut.
- In Your website or idea, paste your website address (the agent uses your fonts, colors and logo) or describe your idea.
- Click Use this cut. The request goes to the conversation with the chosen moments and the agent starts.
To skip this screen, click Start from scratch and write your request in the conversation. In any request, the Moments button in the message field attaches moments from any part as references.
Ask and adjust
- Type your request in "Describe the video or what to change…" or click a suggestion, and press Enter. With the editor focused, ⌘K (Mac) or Ctrl+K jumps to the field. The microphone next to send dictates the request, like on the Studio home.
- While it works you see the Plan (when the agent makes one), the Reasoning and the grouped steps (for example, 7 steps).
- At the end, the reply says what changed on screen, how many files changed and Worked for with the time.
- To adjust, write in the same conversation. To aim a request at a specific element, select it in the preview before sending ("make this bigger"): its name shows in the message field. Click the element's X to clear the selection.
- To change the agent's model, click the model name under Claude Code and pick another. The choice applies to the next requests in this browser.
You can reload the page or close the tab while the agent works: it keeps going on your computer, and when you open the video again the conversation picks up where it is.
Attach files
Click the paperclip in the message field or drag files into the conversation (image, video, audio). They go into the video's folder and are sent with your next request.
To use files that are already in Clickmax Drive, click Add from Drive (the drive icon next to the paperclip). Pick Images, Videos or Audio, search by name and check up to 10 files, up to 500 MB in total; the order you check them is the attachment order. When you click Add, they are copied to the video's folder on your computer and go with your next request. Only files from Drive spaces you can see are listed.
Undo a request
On the changed-files card, click Undo. The video goes back to how it was before that request.
Stop, new conversation and previous conversations
- Stop: the stop button in the message field. What already changed stays in the video.
- New conversation: the button at the top of the column. The current conversation moves to Previous conversations, where you can go back to it.
Export and send to Drive
- Click Export in the top-right corner of the editor. The button shows progress (Exporting 40%) and, at the end, offers Send to Drive and Download MP4. To save just the current frame as an image, use the camera button next to it.
- In the video list, the file shows under the video. Watch plays it right there; Download saves it to your computer; Send to Drive sends it to the space chosen in Drive destination (shown when you can upload to more than one space).
When the connector does not respond
- If the connector stops, the page shows The Studio can't find your computer. Click Copy message, paste it into the Claude app (Code tab) and send it: Claude finds the problem and gets the connector working again. The page comes back on its own when it is done.
- Inside the editor, if Claude Code signs out or can't be found, click Ask Claude to fix it and paste the message into the Claude app the same way.
- In Safari or Firefox, open Clickmax in Chrome.
- Clicked Block on the Chrome prompt? Click the lock next to the address, allow access and reload the page.
- With the connector off, the screen shows Your videos: the list from the last time the connector was on. To open or export, turn the connector on.
