My WhatsApp template shows "Send failed". What should I do?
"Send failed" means the template never reached Meta for review — a content rule blocked the submission. It is still your draft, so you can fix it and try again from the same card:
- Open the connection's Templates tab and filter by Send failed.
- Read the reason shown on the card. It states exactly which rule was broken — an emoji in the header or a variable without a sample value, for example.
- In the card's … menu, click Edit and fix what the reason points to. The form warns you if anything is still outside the rules.
- Save and, from the same menu, click Resubmit for review.
Resending does not create a duplicate template: since it never reached Meta, the submission is a fresh attempt at the same template.
Only templates in Draft or with Send failed can be edited. Under review, Approved or Rejected templates already exist at Meta and are view-only — in those cases, create a new template with the corrected content.
