  • How do I create WhatsApp Business message templates inside Clickmax?

With WhatsApp already connected, open the message Templates tab and:

    1. Click Create template.
    2. Fill in the header, body and any variables you want.
    3. Save. The template is then available for broadcasts and conversations.

WhatsApp Business templates go through Meta approval before they can be sent.

    Content rules Meta requires

The form warns you as you type and blocks submission when a rule isn't met, so the template doesn't go to review only to come back rejected:

    • Header: a single line, up to 60 characters, no emoji and no formatting (*bold*, _italic_, ~strikethrough~, `code`).
    • Body: at most 10 emojis and at most two consecutive line breaks. It can't contain variables only, nor start or end with one.
    • Variables: sequential from {{1}}, with no gaps, and each one needs a sample value.
    • Footer: up to 60 characters.

    Deleting a template

On the Templates tab, open the card's menu and click Delete. The confirmation lists the published automations using that template that will be deactivated — you can reactivate them later.

What happens depends on the status:

    • Draft or Send failed: the template only exists inside Clickmax, so it is deleted right away. This works even if the WhatsApp number isn't active yet.
    • In review, Approved, Rejected or Paused: the template also exists at Meta, so it is deleted there too and can't be recovered. In this case the number must be connected and active.

    If it didn't work

    • Template showing Send failed: fix and resubmit it from the card itself — it never reached Meta.
    • "Connect and activate the WhatsApp number" when deleting: the template already exists at Meta and deleting it needs an active number. Drafts and Send failed templates can be deleted even without an active number.
    • Template rejected or pending: review the content against Meta's rules and see the Meta account limits.
    • WhatsApp not connected yet: finish connecting WhatsApp before creating templates.
    • Other messaging questions: see the FAQ.
