How do I see the average time people spend on each funnel page?
Open the funnel in analytics view and turn on the Avg. time metric on the page card. It shows how long, on average, each visit kept the page actually open in front of them.
You need edit access to the funnel, and the page must be published and receiving visits.
Turn the metric on
- Open the funnel and switch to analytics view.
- On the card of the page you want to measure, click the gear icon (Manage metrics) in the top-right corner of the numbers block.
- Type
timein the filter field to find the metric quickly. - Toggle the switch next to Avg. time.
- Drag the metric by the handle on the left if you want to change the order it appears on the card.
The choice applies to that card and is saved on the funnel, so everyone in the workspace sees the same set of metrics.
How the time is counted
The average is per visit, not per event: someone who leaves and returns to the tab several times still counts as a single visit.
On quiz pages, Avg. time means something different — it is the fill-in time, from the first to the last question.

If it did not work
- The metric shows zero: time is only measured from the moment the page started carrying this measurement. Older visits are not included — wait for new visits.
- Still zero after new visits: confirm the page is published and tracking is active. See create and publish a page.
- The number looks too low: remember that time in a background tab does not count. Someone who opens the page and moves to another tab adds little time, even if they take a while to close it.
