  • How do I choose which pixels track a funnel, a page or a product?

You pick the pixel inside each screen, not on the Pixel and tracking screen. Open the funnel, the page, the product — whatever you want to track — and check there which of your pixels follow that screen. Every check is saved right away, with no separate save button.

    Before you start

    • Role: Owner, Admin or Editor.
    • The pixel already registered under Traffic › Pixel and tracking. If it isn't, start at add a pixel and choose its events.
    • Picking a pixel publishes nothing. A pixel picked on an unpublished page never reaches the visitor — publish before validating.

    1. Add the pixel once

Under Traffic › Pixel and tracking, click Add pixel. The pixel stays available across the whole account, and from then on it shows up for picking on every screen.

That screen is list and registration: it does not choose where the pixel tracks. To see where it is already being used, open View details in the row's menu — see where is this pixel being used.

    2. Open the screen you want to track

Each screen below has a block listing your pixels with a checkbox on each one:

    ScreenWhere the block isBlock name
FunnelFunnel settings → TrackingPixels tracking this funnel
PagePage settings → Scripts in the editor, or, on the funnel canvas, the step's settings under TrackingPixels tracking this page
DomainSettings → Domains, open the domain and go to Scripts and PixelsPixels on this domain
Productopen the product and go to the Pixels tabPixels on this product
Offeropen the product and then the offerPixels on this offer
Booking pageScheduling → Booking pages, open it, General tabPixels on this booking page
Webinaropen the webinar and go to Conversion → PixelPixels on this webinar
Formopen the form under Share & SettingsPixels tracking this form
Quizopen the quiz under Settings → AdvancedPixels tracking this quiz
Redirect linkMarketing → Redirects, in the link's menu choose Pick pixels for this linkPixels on this link

    3. Check the pixels

    1. Check the box next to every pixel that should track that screen. You can check as many as you want.
    2. The Pixels updated message confirms the choice was saved.
    3. To take a pixel off that screen, uncheck the box.

Each screen keeps its own choice. Unchecking a pixel on one page does not take it off the other pages, nor off the funnel, nor off the product.

While the list says No pixel picked here yet, nothing tracks that screen. If it says You have not registered any pixel yet, the way out is Go to Traffic › Pixel and tracking and add your first one.

Two screens have a condition of their own:

    • Booking page: the block only shows on a booking page with a public link. On one you have just created, the message is Save the booking page to pick its pixels — save and come back.
    • Redirect link: besides picking the pixels, the link needs the Fire pixel on this link switch turned on. Links created before this change start with it off.

The redirect link is the only screen that also asks what that click means, under What this click means: a link can lead to a video, to a WhatsApp conversation or to a capture page outside Clickmax, and only whoever built the link knows which. The options are Viewed content, Contact and Became a lead, and with no choice the link sends Viewed content. The details are in pixel on a redirect link.

On the other screens there is no event choice: the event comes from what the visitor actually did — opening the page, filling the form, buying.

    5. Publish and validate

Publish the funnel (or the page) and confirm on the published screen, never in the editor preview. The steps are in validate the pixel and its events.

A pixel that comes from somewhere else

On a page, some pixels show up in a separate group called Comes from somewhere else, with no checkbox. They track that page because they were picked on a screen above it, and the line says which:

    What it saysWhat it means
Comes from the domain, so it applies to every page on itThe pixel was picked on the domain, under Scripts and Pixels
Comes from the funnel, so it applies to its pagesThe pixel was picked on the funnel, under Funnel settings → Tracking
Comes from a broader settingThe pixel was picked on another screen above this one

The page's list finds the funnel on its own: it does not matter whether you got there from the funnel or from Marketing › Pages, nor whether the funnel is published yet. A page used in more than one funnel shows the pixel from all of them.

A quiz that is a step of a funnel also gets the pixel picked on the funnel, on the quiz's public link and on its custom domain. Under Pixels tracking this quiz, that pixel shows up in the Tracking block, with no checkbox, and the line Comes from this quiz's funnel. To remove it, open the funnel under Funnel Settings → Tracking. A quiz used in more than one funnel gets the pixel from all of them.

Only what was picked on that screen can be unchecked there — and that is on purpose: unchecking the domain's pixel from inside one page would take it off every other page on that domain. To change it, open the screen it comes from, or use Go to Traffic › Pixel and tracking and the pixel's View details.

The same pixel on two screens counts one conversion

This is the most common doubt: the pixel is on the funnel and on the product, and the sales page has the checkout embedded.

Clickmax resolves the pixel once and fires once. You do not need to uncheck one of the screens to avoid double counting.

What still duplicates is a different thing: the same event fired by Clickmax and by a tag of yours in Google Tag Manager, or the pixel code pasted by hand under Scripts on top of the registration. See the symptoms in validate the pixel and its events.

    Say what the screen represents

Three events do not go out on their own, even with the pixel checked on the screen: Clickmax does not guess that a page is an offer page from its name, nor that a form is a full registration from the fields it has. A wrong guess here fills your ad account with a conversion that never happened. So you mark it.

    A content or offer page

    1. Open the page under Page settings → Scripts in the editor, or, on the funnel canvas, the step's settings under Tracking.
    2. Turn on Content page. The mark is saved right away.

From then on, whoever opens that page generates Saw the main content. An unmarked page does not generate that event, and there is nothing to turn off on the pixel. If the page was already published, the mark takes effect on its own — you do not need to publish again.

Mark the sales pages and the content pages you advertise. Do not mark the thank-you page, the checkout or the capture page: on those the visitor is not consuming the content you advertised.

A full registration or an application

By default, whoever fills a form or a quiz generates Became a lead. When the form is something else, say which:

    1. Open the form or the quiz in the editor.
    2. Under What does this form represent? (or What does this quiz represent?), choose:
      • Became a lead — the default, and the right one for contact capture, lead magnets and waiting lists.
      • Completed a registration — a full sign-up, with the data you actually need.
      • Sent an application — an application or selection form, where you still have to approve or reject.
    3. Save.

Pick only one. The form represents one event, not three — and the chosen event replaces Became a lead, it does not add to it.

That question is different from picking the pixels, and the two sit side by side on the same screen: one says which event the form represents, the other says which pixels receive that event.

    If it didn't work

    • No event shows up: confirm the pixel is checked on that screen, that it is Active under Traffic › Pixel and tracking, and that you tested on the published screen.
    • The funnel's pixel does not show up on the quiz as Comes from this quiz's funnel: confirm the quiz is a step of that funnel on the canvas. A quiz outside the funnel only gets what was checked on it.
    • The pixel you checked on the funnel does not appear in the page's list: confirm the page really is a step of that funnel — the page's list shows what comes from the funnel, the domain and the page itself, and a page that is not in the funnel does not get its pixel. Check under Funnel settings → Tracking.
    • The event shows on the sales page but not on the checkout: the pixel is checked on the funnel, not on the product. Open the product's Pixels tab (or the offer) and check it there.
    • The funnel has no pixels block: a funnel from the previous generation did not get per-screen picking. What was already set up on it still applies and shows under the pixel's View details, as Funnel (previous version).
    • The list is replaced by Could not load the pixels: that is a passing read failure. Nothing changed on your pixels — try again in a moment.
    • Saw the main content does not show up: the page is not marked as a Content page.
    • The form sends Became a lead when you expected another event: check What does this form represent? in the form editor.
    • Google Ads receives the event but records no conversion: that event's Conversion label is missing.
    • The conversion counts twice: look for the same event in a Google Tag Manager tag or in code pasted under Scripts.
