  • How do I put a pixel on my webinar?

You pick the pixel inside the webinar itself, in the Pixel step. From then on it follows the viewer from the first visit to the offer click: the sign-up page, the sign-up, the room entry, the pitch, the offer and the click on the offer button.

    Before you start

    • Role: Owner, Admin or Editor.
    • The pixel already set up under Traffic › Pixel and tracking. If it isn't, start at set up and configure a pixel.
    • The webinar published. While the public link is not live, nobody signs up and there is no conversion to send.

    1. Open the Pixel step

    1. Go to Webinars and open the webinar.
    2. In the builder sidebar, under the Conversion section, open Pixel.
    3. The Pixels on this webinar block lists your account's pixels, with a checkbox on each one.

    2. Check the pixel

    1. Check the box next to every pixel that should receive this webinar's conversions. You can check more than one.
    2. The Pixels updated message confirms the choice was saved.
    3. To take a pixel off the webinar, uncheck the box.

Every click saves — there is nothing to save afterwards.

If the account has no pixel at all, the block says You have not registered any pixel yet and offers the Go to Traffic › Pixel and tracking shortcut.

A webinar with no pixel checked sends no conversion.

    3. Check what the webinar sends

The webinar has six moments worth an event, from the first visit to the offer click. All of them are automatic — there is nothing to mark on each one.

Viewer momentEvent name on MetaHow many times
Opened the sign-up pagePageViewOnce per page view
    Completed the sign-upLeadOnce per sign-up
    Entered the roomViewContentOnce per session
    Reached the pitchViewContentOnce per session
    Reached the offerViewContentOnce per session
Clicked the offer buttonAddToCartOnce per session

"Once per session" means once per viewer in each broadcast. Reloading the room, losing the connection and coming back, or clicking the offer button three times does not repeat any of them — the room remembers what it already sent. The sign-up page is the only exception, and deliberately so: reloading it is a new page view, as on any website.

The sign-up goes out through both paths at once: through the browser and through Meta's Conversions API. Both calls carry the same event identifier, so Meta recognises it as the same conversion and counts it once. That is what makes the sign-up arrive both when the viewer uses an ad blocker and when the pixel has no Access token yet.

The offer click goes out through the Conversions API, and the other four moments go out through the browser. The difference between the two paths is in why some events reach Meta even with an ad blocker.

If you turn Server-side off on Started a purchase, the browser takes over sending the offer click. On Became a lead both paths stay on deliberately — the shared identifier is what prevents double counting.

Why reaching the pitch sends "Viewed the main content"

Entering the room, reaching the pitch and reaching the offer are attention signals, not buying intent. They go out as ViewContent — "viewed the main content" — which is exactly what happened, and never as a sales conversion.

The difference matters when you optimise a campaign: if those three moments came in as Lead or AddToCart, the campaign would start looking for people who watch videos instead of people who buy. When in doubt, optimise for Became a lead and Started a purchase, and use the three ViewContent for remarketing audiences (people who reached the offer and did not buy, for example).

Watching a percentage of the video sends no event at all. If you want to react to that milestone — or to any of the others — the place is the webinar's Automations: there they trigger a message, a tag or a flow, without becoming an ad conversion.

    Where else this pixel tracks

The same pixel can track a funnel, a page, a product and an offer at the same time — each one checked inside its own screen. To see the whole list, open View details on the pixel's row under Traffic › Pixel and tracking: see where is this pixel being used.

When the same pixel reaches the same screen through two paths, Clickmax fires only once. You do not need to uncheck either one.

Checking or unchecking the pixel in this step touches only this webinar. The pixel's other screens stay exactly as they were, including the event you picked on a redirect link.

If you want every new webinar to be born with a pixel, that is the Use on everything I create from now on option in the pixel form — see how to use the same pixel on everything I create.

    Validate

Publish the webinar, open the public link and confirm the PageView. Run a test sign-up and confirm the Lead. If the broadcast is live, enter the room and confirm a ViewContent. The test walkthrough is in validate Pixel and events.

    If it didn't work

    • No conversion shows up: confirm the pixel is checked under Pixels on this webinar and that the webinar is published.
    • The pixel is checked but the event does not arrive: open the pixel under Traffic › Pixel and tracking and check that the matching event is on — Opened a page, Viewed the main content, Became a lead and Started a purchase — and that the pixel is active.
    • Only the offer click's AddToCart is missing: it is the one event that depends solely on server-side sending. Check the pixel's Access token; if you do not plan to use server-side sending, turn Server-side off on Started a purchase so the browser takes over.
    • Only the ViewContent is missing: Viewed the main content is only sent by the browser. A viewer with an ad blocker generates none of those three, and that is expected — the sign-up and the offer click still arrive.
    • You use Google Ads: every event you turn on needs its Conversion label. Without the label, Google receives the call and records no conversion — including the room's ViewContent.
    • The conversion counts twice: look for the same event in one of your Google Tag Manager tags or in code pasted by hand. Each webinar moment goes out through a single path — see validate Pixel and events.
    • You expected a Lead on "reached the pitch": it goes out as ViewContent, by product decision. See the section above.
    • The viewer entered without signing up: in a room that does not require a sign-up, the offer click generates no AddToCart — with no sign-up there is nobody to attribute the conversion to. Require the sign-up on the webinar if you advertise for that click.
