Which events does Clickmax send to my pixel?
Clickmax uses a fixed vocabulary of 13 conversion events. Each one maps to a concrete visitor action and is sent using the standard name Meta recognises — the standard name is what feeds campaign optimisation; a name outside the list arrives as a custom event and optimises nothing.
Before you start
- You need a pixel configured. To set one up and test it, see end-to-end tracking and how to test whether your pixel is firing.
- Some events are sent from the visitor's browser, and some are also sent through Meta's Conversions API. The table columns below say which, and why some events reach Meta even when the visitor has an ad blocker explains the difference between the two paths.
Events already active today
These four are sent right now for anyone with a pixel configured on the checkout and on published pages.
Purchase respects the pixel's payment method filter: if you cleared Pix, a sale paid with Pix produces no event.
The full vocabulary
The remaining nine events belong to the same vocabulary and are being switched on gradually, surface by surface. While a surface is not switched on, its event simply is not sent — nothing needs reconfiguring on your side when it arrives.
What differs between Meta and Google Ads
Without the conversion label filled in, Google Ads receives the hit but records no conversion.
Why PageView and ViewContent do not use the Conversions API
They are the two highest-volume, lowest-match events. Sending them from the server as well would burn your ad account's quota without improving attribution — on a busy sales page they would outnumber every other event combined.
Double counting
When the same event travels through the browser and the Conversions API, Clickmax sends the same event identifier on both paths and Meta counts a single conversion. You do not need to switch one channel off to avoid duplicates.
The case that still duplicates is a different one: the same event fired by Clickmax and by a tag of your own in Google Tag Manager. See the symptoms in how to test whether your pixel is firing.
